Bassi Wildlife Sanctuary, situated near Bassi Village, sprawls over an area of 50 sq. km. Bounded by the Vindhyachal Ranges in the west; the region presents a picturesque landscape to the pleasure of nature lovers. This place is an exciting destination for wildlife enthusiasts due to abundance of wild animals like panthers, wild boars, mongoose and antelopes in their natural habitat. The reserve also attracts various migratory birds. Orai Dam and Bassi Dam located within the sanctuary are also prominent attractions of the place. It must be noted that visitors are required to seek prior permission from the District Forest Officer of Chittorgarh to visit the sanctuary.

Spread over an area of about 50 sq km near the Bassi village, Bassi Wildlife Sanctuary is located on the western boundary of the Vindhyachal range. In the sanctuary, animals like panther, antelope, wild boar, etc and various species of native and migratory birds can be seen. This sanctuary is a protected region and requires permission from the District Forest Officer of Chittorgarh. The Orai and Bassi dams within the sanctuary are another attraction.

One of the lesser known Wildlife Sanctuaries around the state, Bassi Wildlife Sanctuary has a mysterious charm that waits to be unravelled! Housing a large variety of animals like Fox, Hyena, Panther, Jackal, Crocodile, Cheetal, Porcupine, Wild Boar, Langur ad Hare, the place is also a tertiary home to many migratory birds like Cranes and Pelicans during winter months. Fringed by the rugged Vindhyachal Ranges, the Bassi Wildlife sanctuary also has the Orasi and Bassi Dams included in its area, which make for a pleasing sight, even if it is slightly hard to spot the animals. All in all, the place is a great option to spend your day, away from the maddening tourist crowds in the lap of nature.
